2008 Peregrine Falcon Closures PDF Print E-mail

It's that time of the year again.

The US Forest Service letter dated January 14th, 2008 states there were 13 known nesting pairs of falcons last season. At least seven of the sites successfully produced young, 5 did not. They are unsure of Shortoff due to the fires.

Forest Service climbing areas that are CLOSED until August 15th (or further notice):
WHITESIDES
BIG LOST COVE
SHORTOFF
TABLE ROCK, NC
WHITEROCK CLIFF
LOOKING GLASS

The affected areas are the same as years prior and areas affected should be well marked.
