The CCC would like to extend a debt of gratitude to Matt Gentling and the good folks at Black Dome Mountain
Sports in Asheville for throwing a wonderful fundraising event in honor of the CCC. The event as many now was set to be held at Rumbling Bald. Due to unfortunate weather on the 29th the shoe demo was moved to Climbmax Gym in Downtown Asheville.
Stuart Cowles and the folks at Climbmax were generous enough to host the shoe demo from noon until about 6:00pm. We were lucky to have Norman Pitt from La Sportive, Kurt Smith from Evolv, Jim Horton representing Five-Ten and our own Nancy Jackson travel to demo the hottest new shoes on the market.

Due to unforeseen circumstances revolving around some silly basketball games, we were again fortunate enough to be able to hold the evening slideshow event at Climbmax. A big thanks goes out to Stuart and his crew not only for hosting our event but also providing some of the food and beverages that people enjoyed during the slideshow.

Around 8:00pm, about 50 guests were treated to images and videos from Pat Goodman and Dave Sharrat and food and drink from the event organizers and host. Pat presented some footage and photos from a previous expidition that he and his partner Hank Jones, took to the Vampire Spires in the Yukon Territory of Canada. Dave presented a video of a previous expedition he took to climb in Patagonia. The highlight of their show was a presentation of Pat, Dave and Freddie Wilkenson's most recent trip to the Indian Himalaya. Dave Pat and Freddie set out to climb an unclimbed feature named peak 5960 in the Miyar Valley.

During and after there was much swag to be had from the gear raffle which was generously supported by Black Dome, Diamond Brand and Climbmax. Matt, Stuart, Pat, Dave, Norm, Jim, Nancy and Kurt
helped to raise over $600.00 for the CCC towards the purchase of Laurel Knob. We are sincerely grateful for your efforts and thanks so much for making it happen despite all the odds.
