Join the Carolina Climbers Coalition and REI Greenville to kick start a major trail project at Big Rock, South Carolina.

The CCC and Naturaland Trust have noted several trail improvements and reroutes needed to make our access trails more sustainable and more pleasurable. The plan is to build locust steps in steep areas to improve user experience and minimize trail erosion, and clear a corridor for a planned trail reroute. The trail reroute is especially exciting as it eliminates several unnecessary ups and downs. Big Rock is South Carolina's premiere single pitch and bouldering area, with access confirmed just a few years back via the partnership of Naturaland Trust and the CCC. Now it's time to give back and maintain the area!
No experience needed.
Bring: Gloves, eye protection, favorite trail tool, water, lunch, personal climbing gear. If you have any of the following tools, they would also be helpful; sledge hammer or maul, pulaski, folding saw, canvas bags to carry gravel, shovel, hand clippers
Volunteer Goals: Be safe, have fun, learn sustainable trail building techniques, make a positive impact on an area you love
