FAQs
What about Rain?
This is a rain or shine event. Please come prepared for the weather. If the Festival is cancelled, funds raised from your registraion will be put towards our ongoing access and stewardhip work throughout the Carolinas. Refunds will not be issued if this event is cancelled for any reason. The funds raised through event registration fees are important for our access and conservation work. Thank you for your support!
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are allowed at the Campground. There are two other dogs that roam on the campground, a german shepard (Sofie) and a border collie (Cindy) both very friendly. Dogs are NOT allowed at Sauratown Mountain - no exceptions. Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Park allow dogs on leashes.
I am a beginner climber and would like to attend, will you guide me up the rock?
All climbing activities are at your own risk. If you wish for a professional guide service, we recommend taking one of the clinics offered by professional guides. The CCC or its volunteers are not a guide service, however, we welcome new climbers. It is highly likely that if you follow the group of folks headed to the rock for community climbing, you will find climbing partners. Community climb-time is not a professional service. Climbing is at your own risk.
Is carpooling required?
There is plenty of parking at the campground, but try to Carpool to the crag if you can.
Is alcohol allowed?
Alcohol is allowed at Jomeokee campground for individuals over 21 years old. We will have beer, Kombucha, and other non-alcoholic beverages for purchase during the festival in the campground. Alcohol is NOT allowed at Sauratown Mountain, or Hanging Rock State Park.
Can I bring my kids?
This festival will be fun for all ages.
How does camping work?
Dispersed Camping is included with the registration for Friday and Saturday night. This is camping in an open field, with a community fire pit. If you'd like to have your own spot, or bring a camper/trailer please visit jomeokeecampground.com to book a site. Do not wait, they will go fast.
I have registered but can not go, can I get a refund?
If you have registered and can not attend, or if the festival gets cancelled, funds from your registration will be put towards our ongoing access and stewardship efforts throughout the Carolinas.
