Rally in the Valley is BACK! Join us September 21st at Hidden Valley, VA for a weekend of stewardship, education and community.

Join us September 21st at Hidden Valley, VA for an all-in-one work/play weekend. This celebration of community, climbing and access will highlight the collective impact of the CCC and CACC in creating safe and sustainable climbing access at Hidden Valley, and will raise funds for stewardship projects and ongoing maintainence of climbing at Hidden Valley!

SOLD OUT: Clinic #1: Single Pitch Partner Assistance/Rescue Techniques

  • Description: What would you do if your partner's hand got stuck in a crack? Clothing jammed in your belay device? What if your kid is afraid to be lowered after a climb? This clinic will explore possible solutions to common scenarios and snafus. The material covered will be focused on single pitch terrain and include baseline assistance/rescue skills like belay escapes/takeovers, pick offs, etc.

SOLD OUT: Clinic #2: Bolt Replacement

  • Description: Ready to volunteer with hardware replacement? Join Wes Calkins from the Appalachian Climbing School to learn modern techniques for hardware replacement. Various methods for removal of hardware and the use of specialty tools will be demonstrated and practiced. During the clinic we will practice placing and removing wedge bolts, one of the most common style of bolt found in climbing. There will also be sessions on hardware identification and maintenance.
