The Rumble is back! The Southeast’s biggest outdoor ropes and bouldering competition returns to Rumbling Bald with a refreshed format, smoother flow, and the lowest registration rates we’ve offered in years.

This year’s event features improved scoring, refined categories, and expanded prizing — and marks the first major climbing competition to return to Rumbling Bald since Hurricane Helene. Your registration directly supports local recovery, climbing access, and stewardship at Lower Ghost Town, the CCC’s newest protected climbing area.

Volunteer with Access Fund + CCC (Saturdays)

Join the Access Fund Conservation Team and CCC for Adopt-a-Crag volunteer days focused on building sustainable access at Lower Ghost Town.

🕘 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
📍 Meet at Chimney Rock Village Public Parking Lot

For both options, work includes trail building, corridor clearing, stone steps, and long-term access improvements. Expect a challenging but rewarding day with a 0.5–1 mile uphill hike to work zones. Tools and PPE provided.
