Kayah Gaydish Stewardship Awards

We are pleased to announce the recipients of this year's Kayah Gaydish Stewardship awards. Established in honor of Kayah, a former board member and beloved member of the local climbing and conservation communities, these awards recognize individuals who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to sustain climbing areas in the Carolinas. 

This year's winners are:

Jon Lane accepts his award at the annual CCC meeting

Jon Lane

Jon has worked tirelessly on trails, kiosks and more across NC. He obtained Forest Service trail crew leader certification in the Pisgah Ranger District and built the new kiosk at Hidden Valley. Jon has been a virtually every trail day over the past several years and continues to give back to the community.

Tony McGee

Tony is a professional trail builder who has given his time and skills to the CCC over the past few years. Tony supervised the Rock Project trail day at Sauratown and trail days at Moore's Wall. He freely shares his knowledge with others and is helping us to build a broader community of skilled trail builders.

Wes Cooler

Wes is an amazing partner for climbers at Naturaland Trust in South Carolina. Wes has consistently advocated for climber access and trails at Big Rock and we instumental in the new parking lot and trail system. We greatly appreciate Wes's partnership and look forward to continuing to work with him.
