Jump Off Rock

Land Manager: Town of Laurel Park

Area rep: Shannon Millsaps smillsaps@carolinaclimbers.org

Beta: See the Mountain Project page

Access Info: In 2025-2026, the Carolina Climbers Coalition entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the land owners, the Town of Laurel Park.  The MOU outlines that CCC and volunteer climbers (that’s YOU)  will help maintain this awesome area and hopefully keep it available for bouldering. Our main stewardship push here has been graffiti removal and trash removal.  Please note that this MOU is not a permanent access tool and can be revoked.  Climbers being an asset to the Park is the goal, and our way to maintain this great access.  Please park responsibly, clean up chalk and trash, volunteer, be friendly, and help make this a great place to boulder and visit.  Join the CCC at carolinaclimbers.org/join

Thank You's: Special thanks to local climber Ky Bishop for initiating this access project and to the Town of Laurel Park for being climber-friendly. Additional thanks to the Trust For Public Lands for supporting our staff and volunteers.

What to expect: Awesome rock quality, some of the shortest approaches possible without being roadside, and a concentration around v7-v10, with plenty of hard as nails climbs left to be done. With Corner Rock currently both having been tipped over and the road closed, the Bob Ross Wall probably has some of the highest concentration of hard climbs on a single boulder/wall within an hour of Asheville. The approaches are generally short and easy and better described on the Mountain Project link above.

Directions: Please park responsibly. If the parking lot is full, either wait a few minutes for a new space to open up or go elsewhere. Park at Jump Off Rock, in the Town of Laurel Park. Parking GPS: 35.313410, -82.526510

Access notes
