At the first annual Great Trails State Conference, the CCC were honored to accept an Impact Award for our work on the Table Rock Climbers Access Trail in Linville Gorge. 

This award was given by the Great Trails State Coalition, a growing coalition of over 100 nonprofit and land management organizations that serve outdoor recreation lands in North Carolina. CCC's Board member Katie Elliott was able to accept the award on our behalf.

Dear Carolina Climbers Coalition Community,

We are beyond thrilled to share the wonderful outcome of our inaugural Send of Summer Soirèe! Thanks to your incredible energy and generosity, the event was a tremendous success, and we are filled with gratitude for everyone who joined us and supported our cause.

CCC volunteers and staff work directly with NC Wildlife Commission Biologists and SC State Park officials on the conservation of peregrine falcons. Peregrines  are considered a threatened species in North Carolina due to their major decline in population during the 1960's. Their population is back on the rise and the CCC are proud to announce that many of cliffs that climbers also enjoy have been safe havens for successful breeding sites of mating peregrines. As of Aug 15, 2024, all peregrine closures have been lifted for the season. 

Cedar Rock Climber Access Changes at Butter Gap: Pisgah Area SORBA recently spearheaded a major rerouting of the Butter Gap Trail, causing some nice improvements to sustainability, as well as some minor changes for climber access. Changes for climbers are listed below.
